Entertaining at Home

An English book from1967 with scads of tips and recipes for entertaining at home -- from a casual dinner party to a wedding reception. It should have been called "Entertaining with Prunes" because there are an awful lot of prune recipes -- more than you'd expect to find in a book about elegant entertaining.

House & Garden's Complete Guide to Creative Entertaining

No recipes in this 1971 book, but it's crammed with page after page of eye-popping decorating ideas to make your next party the most talked-about event of the season.

Foodarama Party Book

Anything ending in "rama" is A-OK by me. This 1964 book (reprinted from 1959) is the only party planning resource you'll ever need: baby showers, birthday parties, barbecues, picnics, parties for small fry and teen agers, cocktail parties, bridge for the ladies, poker for the men . . . it's all here.
