#21. Is Your Child On Drugs?

Despite the lurid come-on of the cover, this 1970 paperback is relatively free of the sensationalism of many books of this kind (perhaps because it's Canadian?). Its advice? Learn as much as you can about drugs, understand your kids and communicate with them. A little disappointing if you're looking for "Reefer Madness" type hysteria, but there is a chapter of resources that lists a number of promising sounding films: "The Distant Drummer - A Movable Scene," narrated by Robert Mitchum, "Marijuana" narrated by "Sonny Bond" [sic] of Sonny and Chèr, and (imagine Troy McClure saying this) such filmstrips as "Let's Talk About Goofballs and Pep Pills," "LSD: Trip or Trap?" and "Glue Sniffing: Big Trouble in a Tube."
