#33. Wonders of the Human Body
A Scholastic book by illustrator extraordinaire Anthony Ravielli. I wish I could show you some of the whimsical and beautifully detailed anatomical drawings but I wouldn't be able to scan the pages of this paperback without wrecking it, so you'll just have to take my word.
Ravielli also wrote the text and you can tell that the subject is dear to his heart:
The spine is perfectly balanced and is so ordered in its arrangement that it forms the most beautiful line in the body.
How many anatomy books can you think of that consider aesthetics?
I also have this bowling instruction book illustrated by Ravielli (text by Don Carter). Once again, the illustrations are exquisite and some are whimsical (such as cavemen bowling).

If you search for Ravielli on the web you will mostly find the many golf books he illustrated, but sadly no biographical information or appreciations of this talented artist.
