You know those coconut souvenirs? From Hawaii or wherever. The ones that are made from the outer covering of coconuts? Monkeys, mostly, but sometimes other things. I hear that some people collect them. I see them in the thrift stores all the time (the coconut things, not the collectors). I could have a room full of crudely carved monkeys in no time, I bet, which is why I've avoided these things. Until this guy. He looks so lifelike (the sunken eyes, the pockmarked skin) that I couldn't resist. I hope this isn't the start of another collection.
